Ch. Hurd’s Honey Bee pictured winning an all breed Best In Show  at the Cedar Rapids Kennel Association under judge Ed Bracy, handled by Peggy Hogg.  Honey Bee (Ch. King’s Honey X Ch. Hurd’s Bit O’Honey)  was the top winning Chihuahua in America for 1969 and 1970.

Ch. Hurd’s Jose (Ch. Hurd’s Tub o”Honey X Hurd’s Gina Stober) winning a 5 point major under judge Maxine Beam, handled by breeder,owner Max E. Hurd.  Jose was purchased by Mrs. Handwerk and was one of her leading studs for many years.

Ch. Hurd’s Kojak, grandson of Ch. Hurd’s Honey Bee, pictured going WD at Chihuahua Club of America National Specialty under judge Maxwell Riddle, handled by Marie Hurd.  Kojak was the leading stud at Hurd’s for many years, probably our all time best producing stud.

Ch. Hurd’s Blue Delphinium, a lovely dark blue bitch with white trim,  pictured winning on the way to her championship.  Delpinium  was bred, owned and handled by Max E. Hurd.  She was sired by Ch. Hurd’s Kojak X Hurd’s Flower Child.

Ch. Hurd’s Scarlet Nasturtium, a littermate to Delphinium pictured finishing to her championship under Dr. Huggins.  “Nasty” was also WB, BW and BOV at the Chihuahua Club of Oklahoma Specialty under judge Wilton Meyers.

Ch. Jay ‘N’ Dot’s Rita Faye, a lovely bitch bred by S.J. Clark and purchased by the Hurd’s. She was handled to her championship by Max E. Hurd and is pictured winning BOV and BOS to BOB at the Chihuahua Club of America National Specialty. 

Ch. Hurd’s Honeycomb, granddaughter of Ch. Hurd’s Honey Bee is pictured winning under breeder judge Boo Hatch, handled by Marie Hurd.  Honeycomb was Best SC in Sweepstakes at the CCofA National.

Ch. Shroyer’s Yolanda, bred by Grace L. Shroyer and purchased by the Hurd’s as a puppy, pictured going WB, BW and BOV at the Chihuahua Club of America National Specialty.

Ch. Hurd’s Lil Tuffy (Ch. Shroyer’s Teco Robin X Ch. Hurd’s Lil Taffy), one of the few chocolates produced by Hurd’s from Shroyer stock.  Handled by Marie Hurd.

Ch. Cobtown’s Begonia (Ch. Hurd’s Kojak X Cobtown Tweetie Pie) bred and owned by John Rhoten and Bob Ulip, Cobtown Chihuahuas.  Co-owned and co-handled by Marie Hurd.  Begonia is pictured winning BISS at the Chihuahua Club of Southern California Specialty in conjunction with the CCofA National Specialty under breeder judge Alberta Booth.   Begonia’s wins begun with WB and BW at the CCofA National Specialty from the puppy class handled by owner John Rhoten.  Her wins included BISS at CCofA,  twice BOS to BOB at CCofA and five Toy Group Firsts.   Between John Rhoten, his daughter, sister and mother, Bob Ulip and his friend Phil Pijanowski, they have cared for our Chihuahuas whenever we have been away for shows, etc. for the entire fifty plus years.  I don’t know what we would have done without them.  Thank you friends!                                     

Ch. Hurd’s Marty (Ch. Hurd’s Ala Baba X Ch. Hurd’s Melissa) pictured winning the Toy Group under judge Leota Vandeventer, handled by Marie Hurd.  Marty was also BOV and BOS to BOB at the Chihuahua Club of America National Specialty under breeder judge Carolyn Hamilton.

Ch. Hurd-Cobtown Red Hot Poker (Ch. Hurd’s Kojak X Ch. Hurd’s Mata Hari) pictured winning BOB at the Chihuahua Club of America National Specialty, handled by John Rhoten, under English judge Mona Huxhum.  Bred and owned by John Rhoten and Max E. Hurd.  Trophy presented by James Lehman.  Poker was also WD at the CCofA National Specialty on his way to his championship and was a Toy Group winner.
